The LEC pioneered Laboratory Workflow Analysis as a means of assessing your existing operations by developing a current "'AS-IS"  state diagram, and designing a future "TO-BE"  state diagram that reflects your laboratory operations with a commercial LIMS as the core laboratory software application. Whenever possible, your own laboratory and business experts assist in the development of the TO-BE model which serves as the foundation for system requirements, system design, and project planning activities. By developing your future state laboratory operation prior to LIMS implementation, you ensure that you target your project dollars towards functionality that provides an immediate business benefit to your company.

This activity may take from a few weeks to several months, dependent upon the number of laboratory groups, geographical locations, and number of people to be interviewed.
